Colorectal Surgery

General characteristic

Colorectal surgery performs diagnostics, conservative and surgical treatment of acute and chronic diseases of large intestine and rectum, perianal and sacrococcygeal regions, including most serious patients that suffer from cancer, inflammatory or diverticular disease of large intestine. During patients’ treatment the modern international protocols and high-technology minimum invasive methods are used. This leads to the decrease of postoperative rehabilitation period.

Principal activity

In the Department we carry out surgical interventions during the following diseases:

  • acute and chronic hemorrhoid,

  • rectal fissure,

  • anal fissure,

  • rectum fistula,

  • rectovaginal fistula,

  • rectocele,

  • acute and chronic paraproctitis,

  • epithelial – coccygeal tract,

  • pyogenic skin affection of anterior perineum and sacrococcygeal regions,

  • large intestine and rectum polyps,

  • tumors of large intestine and rectum,

  • sharp-pointed condylomas and papilloma,

  • rectal prolapse,

  • incontinence of anal sphincter.

As a part of multidisciplinary clinic, the Department has a unique opportunity for the treatment of the patients with severe complicated diseases and with the concomitant diseases, for performance of multi-step plastic surgical interventions and the securing full rehabilitation program for the patients in post-surgical period.
