Universal Medical Insurance

As of January 1, 2026, within the framework of the Universal Health Insurance Program launched in the Republic of Armenia, the following is provided:

  • Radiation therapy for malignant neoplasms using IMRT or VMAT techniques - 24 sessions, with the cost of one session amounting to AMD 64,000, fully covered without co-payment. 
  • Of the cost of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), AMD 200,000 is reimbursed by the state, while the remaining AMD 200,000 is paid by the citizen.

Under the state-funded program
According to Decision No. 1974-N of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated December 25, 2025:

  • Radiation therapy using a linear accelerator with IMRT and VMAT techniques, at a cost of AMD 64,000 per session (without co-payment), may be provided to: 
    • beneficiaries of social protection institutions and temporary shelters;
    • individuals recognized as refugees and granted asylum in the Republic of Armenia, including those granted temporary protection, as well as individuals identified and registered by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, who were forcibly displaced as a result of the military actions launched by Azerbaijan against Nagorno-Karabakh starting from September 19, 2023.

Citizens of the Republic of Armenia with malignant neoplasms not included in the Universal Health Insurance Program and the above-mentioned special groups

  • Radiation therapy using a linear accelerator with IMRT and VMAT techniques is provided with co-payment: AMD 32,000 is reimbursed by the state, while the remaining AMD 32,000 is paid by the citizen.
