A pulmonologist specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of diseases of the respiratory system.
A consultation with a pulmonologist may be recommended in cases of persistent cough, shortness of breath, sputum production, chest pain, recurrent respiratory infections, as well as suspected diseases of the bronchi and lungs.

Home visits by specialists are not provided at Nairi Medical Center. To receive a pulmonology consultation, it is necessary to schedule an appointment in advance and visit the medical center. This is also important because additional investigations may be required during the pulmonary assessment, and these are carried out in a clinical setting.
A pulmonologist deals with diseases of the respiratory system, including disorders of the bronchi and lungs, while an allergist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. If respiratory symptoms are associated with allergic factors, evaluation by both specialists may be needed in some cases.
A pulmonologist deals with a wide range of respiratory diseases, whereas a phthisiatrician mainly specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of tuberculosis.
The same tests are not required for every patient. If you already have results of a complete blood count, chest imaging studies, sputum analysis, or other medical reports, it is advisable to bring them with you on the day of your visit. Any additional investigations needed are determined by the physician based on your symptoms and the clinical picture.
